How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m a strategic player on the court, and I love to lead through my voice and my actions. Errors are a part of the game but whenever I make any, I always try to problem-solve it before the next serve. I also enjoy studying my opponents before matches to get a feel for their style, and I always take some time afterward to reflect on my performance. It's a great way to improve and figure out how to tackle my future matches with them! Watching my game film is an important part of my self-reflection.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a knack for noticing the little things and enjoy diving deep into challenges. My dedication, preparation, and hard work are key to my success, but what really makes me stand out is my ability to bring people together. I love to navigate tricky situations, using my insights not just for my own benefit, but also to promote understanding and teamwork among everyone involved.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I frequently volunteer with my family at a local urban farm (https://www.aglantis.org/), where we grow vegetables that are donated to those in need in our community. From this experience, I have learned the values of perseverance, patience, and compassion. Helping my community requires a team with diverse skills.

What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a competitive program that effectively balances sports and academics while offering a strong support system. It's also important to me that the program provides financial assistance and resources. Additionally, team culture is a priority, so I am especially interested in programs that prioritize team chemistry.
Currently, I am leaning towards STEM fields and am exploring colleges that offer strong programs in those majors. Micro Biology and Bioengineering are currently at the top of my list.
This is the speech from my coach (Tanner P.) when she gave me the MVP award. Such an honor from a great coach!
How did you get into playing volleyball?
My older sister, Ashlyn Victa, who plays for UC Santa Cruz (Class of 2029), was the first in our family to get into volleyball through club and high school. She received long-distance mentoring from a relative, Justine Wong-Orantes, who is a USA Volleyball Olympian (2020, 2024). After playing competitive tennis through USTA in middle school, I decided to try volleyball as well and made the full transition to club volleyball in 7th grade. From there, I took numerous private lessons and workshops to work myself up to the skill level of a national club libero. I've been taking lessons from Justine, Sal Paja (BAVC Director), and home training from my elder sister. Aside from volleyball, I've been independently working on increasing my strength, speed, and reaction timing under Trainer Coach Aaron Thigpen.
